Condition of the Turf

Today is Easter, March 23rd, 2008. The weather is beautiful and the dogs are having loads of fun. But have you noticed lately that the condition of the grass is awful. There are large area where there is no grass at all. The ground is so dry it's like a dust bowl. It seems like the park district just can't get this right. The park is either dry, like a desert, or muddy, like a swamp.

I am a big fan of the dog park and think there should be more. Most everyone at this park is very friendly and attempt to keep the park clean and watch their dogs.

Too bad the park district can't do the same. Seems to me if they came out a little more often, they would be ashamed of how they have let this facility go downhill. I realize they are short of money and staff, but they are also the supposed experts when it comes to turf. They just recently fertilized the dog park, then let the ground dry up. What a waste of taxpayer money.

I think if enough people wrote or called the park district, they might get their maintenance staff on the ball.
