Looking for someone in dog Rescue

This weekend I have been working with other Shiba folks to find temporary foster home for an older male Shiba Inu currently being held at the SPCA.
Right now the Shiba Rescue is somewhat maxed out ( I can't take in another dog due to family reasons, but I'm trying to help with coordination.)
Situation: This male black and tan Shiba is 8-10 years old, and has what appears to back/leg problem with one rear leg. He is not considered "adoptable" by the SPCA because he was a bit protective about toys when they tried the temperament test on him. He was found wandering loose in Elk Grove on 4/19.
What the Shiba Inu Fanciers of Northern California (SFNC) rescue is doing. We have put notice on Craigslist about him, directing folks to contact SPCA. http://sacramento.craigslist.org/laf/666247121.html
My brother, who owns Shibas, has contacted Sacramento Independent Animal Rescue (SIAR) person to see if they can help. I have suggested that we use the SFNC email distribution list to see if anyone knows the dog. I am trying to get more photos of him to share with rescue folks/email list.
What the SPCA has done: They have contacted Jindo Rescue to see if they could take him.
What might help. If someone who belongs to a recognized rescue could temporarily foster him until a space becomes available with the SFNC Rescue. (Note: Because he is not adoptable, he can only be released to someone with a recognized, tax exempt rescue. Per SPCA: This boy is only available to 501(c)(3) rescuers)
Please let me know if you are affiliated with a rescue that might help.
